LOOP — A man matching the description of a serial robber made off with cash after he held up a Subway restaurant in the city's Loop early Monday morning, police said, though they have not linked the crime to the other robberies.
The Hispanic man in his 20s was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt when he entered the Subway in the first block of East Washington Street, pulled out a handgun and demanded money, police spokesman Officer Hector Alfaro said.
Alfaro said the man grabbed a cash from the restaurant's register and fled. No injuries were reported, and police are investigating, Alfaro said.
The man matches the description of an armed man police said has robbed 11 businesses on the city's North Side since Jan. 18.
