CHICAGO — A man was seriously injured after being shot in the stomach in Washington Park Thursday morning, cops said.

Police said a 33-year-old man was sitting in his car near the intersection of 53rd Street and South Calumet Avenue about 5:35 a.m. when a gunman approached and fired several times into the vehicle. The shooter hit the victim in the stomach, cops said.

The attacker was wearing dark clothing and fled in a white car, cops said.

The victim drove himself to the University of Chicago Hospital but was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
