Vehicle Slams Into TCF Bank Building, Sending 1 to Hospital

By Paul Biasco | February 8, 2013 10:41am

LINCOLN PARK — One person was sent to the hospital after a truck crashed Friday into a TCF Bank in Lincoln Park, officials said.

The crash occurred about 4:15 a.m. at 1400 W. Fullerton, police said.

One person was sent to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious condition.

The bank was closed Friday morning and an employee was unsure when it would reopen. The damage was mostly contained to the front entrance of the bank and no one was inside at the time of the crash, the employee said.

Signs on the front door pointed people to the nearest branch at 2940 N. Ashland Ave. "until further notice."

No further information was available.
