Man Shot Dead Outside Englewood Lounge

CHICAGO — A man was fatally shot in the abdomen Friday morning while standing outside a lounge in Englewood, police said.

The shooting occurred outside Caribbean Lounge, 958 W. 69th St., about 2 a.m., said Officer John Mirabelli, a police spokesman.

The 30-year-old victim, identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Christopher Roundtree, of the 7700 block of South Campbell Avenue, was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Mirabelli said.

He was pronounced dead at 5:30 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Further information was not immediately available.
