CHICAGO — Police are searching for a man they say attempted to sexually assault a woman in North Lawndale on Monday.
The man approached the 27-year-old woman around 6:23 p.m. in the 2100 block of South Millard Avenue after she got in her car, police said in a community alert.
The man stopped the woman from shutting her car door, flashed a gun and demanded she perform a sex act on him, police said.
The woman refused and was able to fend off the man, shut her door and he fled, officials said.
Police described the man as a black male between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-6, and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black-and-red striped skull cap and a gray hoodie or jacket, police said.
