CHICAGO — Three people were seriously injured in a car accident that triggered a multi-emergency vehicle response Wednesday afternoon in Humboldt Park, authorities said.

At least five ambulances were called to the scene after a collision near the intersection of Kedzie and Grand avenues at 2:35 p.m., according to the Chicago Fire Department's media office.

Two adults were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, the fire department said. Another adult was taken in fair-to-serious condition to Norwegian American Hospital.

The CTA temporarily rerouted two bus lines after the crash.
