Man Shot to Death in Abandoned Building

CHICAGO — A man was fatally shot Saturday night in an abandoned Englewood building, authorities said.

Norman Stokes, 38, was with several other males in a building on the 7000 block of South Carpenter Avenue when an argument broke out, authorities said.

One of the males then pulled out a gun and shot Stokes in the chest at about 10:05 p.m., police said.

Stokes, of the 6700 block of South Aberdeen Avenue, was pronounced dead at 1:50 a.m. according to the Cook County medical examiner.
