2 Killed by Car on South Side

CHICAGO — Police said they have someone in custody after two people were hit by a car and killed in Ashburn Saturday night.

A man and a woman were in the street in the 3800 block of West 87th Street about 10:40 p.m. when they were struck by a car, police said.

William Brunson, 39, and Victoria Means, 34, were pronounced at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Brunson, of the 8250 block of South Harper Avenue in Avalon Park, was pronounced dead at 10:55 p.m. while Means, of suburban Riverdale, was pronounced at 11:21 p.m., the medical examiner's office said.

One person was taken into custody with charges pending, police said. Further information was not immediately available.
