CHICAGO — Three Chicago men face federal charges in connection with a string of armed robberies on the city’s North West side.

Robert “Chazzo” Berrios, 45, David “Red” Revis, 32, and Julio “Jelly” Rodriguez, 31, were charged Tuesday with a total of 19 counts of various charges for 12 robberies, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.

The three men allegedly stole tens of thousands of dollars from currency exchanges, Walgreens stores and Cricket, T-Mobile and At&T stores between January and October 2012, officials said.

Berrios, Revis and Rodriguez “obtained intelligence” on the stores before robbing them, and often restrained employees with zip ties. The men wore masks and gloves and were armed, according to the U.S. State’s Attorney.
