CHICAGO — A 73-year-old woman was struck and killed by a semi-truck Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Lydia Tordecilla was hit about 1 p.m. in the intersection of South Ashland Avenue and West Polk Street, officials said.
Tordecilla was crossing Ashland Avenue "against the light," heading West, when the semi traveling northbound hit her, police said.
Tordecilla, of the 1100 block of West Polk Street, was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital at 2:22 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police had no other details and no citations had been issued, as of Wednesday evening.
