CHICAGO — A woman was shot Thursday night while traveling on a CTA bus in Englewood, police said.

The 57-year-old victim was among several people trying to get off the eastbound No. 67 in the 300 block of West 69th Street about 8:40 p.m. when someone yelled a gang slogan, police said.

Shots rang out from outside the bus and struck her through the open front door, police said.

The woman was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital with injuries to her right arm and chest, police said. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
