CHICAGO — Tavi Gevinson of Oak Park is a magazine editor, stylist, voiceover actress and fashion blogger.

On Wednesday, she added "recording artist" to her resume — which is pretty long, considering she's only 16.

DNAinfo.com Chicago is the first place fans of the pop culture icon can hear "Heart," a cover she recorded of the Pet Shop Boys original.

She is releasing the song to accompany a book written by friend Jonah Ansell, who also wrote and directed "Cadaver," an animated short film that starred Gevinson, Christopher Lloyd and Kathy Bates.

"Tavi turns a furious dance song into a fragile ballad, and successfully captures the emotional core of what I sought to convey when I first sat down to write the story for 'Cadaver'," said Ansell.

The release of Gevinson's single accompanies the publication of "Cadaver: The Book," a graphic novel written by Ansell based on the same poem that inspired the film.

Ansell calls it a "nursery rhyme for adults" in the style of Shel Silverstein, drawn with Sharpie markers just like the animated film.

Gevinson rose to fame through her fashion blog, the Style Rookie, which caught the eye of fashion bigwigs like Anna Wintour and Rodarte, who helped make the pint-size guru a front row-staple at New York and other Fashion Weeks.

Gevinson now edits Rookie Magazine, which she launched independently in 2011, though the project was originally a collaboration with media queen Jane Pratt.
