CHICAGO – A Chicago man plead guilty Friday to the sex trafficking and pimping of underage girls.

Carl Brandon Smith, 25, could be sentenced to life in prison and faces a minimum of 10 years behind bars.

Smith, also known as “Moo,” plead guilty to sex-trafficking four women, two of which were under 18, between 2010 and his arrest in April 2012, according to a plea agreement.

Smith also plead guilty to taking a minor across state lines to engage in prostitution. After meeting the underage girl, Smith talked with her through phone calls, texts and social media sites to ask her to move in with him and become his “girlfriend” and a prostitute. Smith then drove the underage girl to his Chicago apartment from her home in Lake Geneva, Wisc., according to the plea.

The two “dated” for a week before Smith began forcing the girl to have sex with men for money in his apartment and nearby motels, according to the plea.

Smith advertised the four women on websites. He used physical violence to control them and threatened to kill them if they ever left.

When one victim said she no longer wanted to work for Smith as a prostitute, he beat her so severely her eyes swelled shut. Two victims were punched in the mouth when they gave Smith “attitude,” according to the plea.

Smith is scheduled for sentencing April 5.
