Woman Stabs Mother to Death, Police Say

CHICAGO — A woman who allegedly stabbed her mother to death during a domestic dispute Saturday night is in custody.

Angela Welch, 55, died after succumbing to multiple stab wounds during the dispute on the 8300 block of South Kingston Avenue, according to authorities. The incident, involving Welch's 25-year-old daughter occurred about 6:45 p.m. on Saturday night, police said.

Welch was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead at 7:26 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Charges are pending, but were not filed as of Sunday morning, police said.
