CHICAGO — Chicagoans had a lot of love for Whitney Houston in 2012.
If Google searches are any indication, the city also had a lot of questions about the Metra, da Bears and winning the big bucks at Mega Millions.
Those were the city's most-searched terms in 2012, a Google rep told DNAinfo.com Chicago.
The only other person on the roundup to join Houston, the singer and actress who died in February, was local rap sensation Chief Keef. The Englewood native's first album dropped this month - but not before a laundry list of legal trouble hounded him.
Chicagoans must have gotten around plenty this year, with Megabus and CTA Bus Tracker searches joining "Metra Chicago" in the top 10. "Chicago Craigslist" also made the most-searched list. (Maybe we can blame our great personal ads for that, like "don't want to die a virgin on 12/21/12.")
Food-loving town that it is, Chicago's restaurant searches on Zagat's website hit some of the city's top notch eateries. Spiaggia topped the list, followed by swanky sushi hotspot NoMi Kitchen.
Third most-searched was Everest, followed by the high-concept Next Restaurant.
The Publican, star chef Graham Elliot's restaurant, and the classic Rosebud also cracked the top 10.
