CHICAGO — A convicted sexual predator was arrested Saturday after leering at an 11-year-old girl in the play area of a restaurant in Norwood Park, police said.

Joseph O’Brien, 36, was arrested for trespassing after loitering at a restaurant in the 1900 block of East Higgins Road, police said in a news release.

The manager asked O'Brien to leave after the sex offender sat near a table of mothers and children in the play area and stared at a girl. He had been asked to leave the restaurant on several previous occasions as well, police said.

O'Brien, of Maine Township, was held on $75,000 bail Monday on charges of failing to update his address with police and criminal trespassing, police said.

O’Brien has been arrested 25 times since 1995 and been convicted of sexual abuse and failing to register as a sex offender, police said.
