CHICAGO — An off-duty police officer died Sunday night after being found unresponsive in an apartment complex lobby, authorities said.
The officer, identified as 53-year-old Patrick Finucanes by the Cook County medical examiner's office, died of apparently natural causes in the 700 block of South Wells Street, police spokeswoman Amina Greer said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:40 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office. As is custom, officers accompanied the body to the medical examiner, according to officials at the office.
