CHICAGO — A man is wanted for trying to kidnap a 13-year-old boy in Back of the Yards Tuesday.
Detectives issued a community alert after a man in his 30s tried to lure the teenage boy into his car at 4:15 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 50th Street, police said.
The suspect drove up to the boy in a teal or turquoise sedan "with the intention of luring him into his vehicle," the alert said.
The boy managed to run away to safety, police said.
The man is described as white, in his 30s, with short black hair and a mustache. He was wearing a blue-striped button-down shirt, police said.
