CHICAGO — All Union Pacific/North Line Metra trains were stopped Wednesday after the No. 337 killed a pedestrian at the Rogers Park station, officials said.
The train departed downtown at 4:30 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Highland Park, the last stop, at 5:10 p.m. It struck the pedestrian at 4:45 p.m., a Metra spokesman said.
The train was not scheduled to stop in Rogers Park.
The train began to move again just after 6:20 p.m. The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, was killed, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
All other trains were delayed leaving downtown, the Metra spokesman said.
The Metra website said trains could be delayed until 7:30 or 8 p.m.
