Local Wares, Food Trucks, Santa Highlight Bridgeport Church's Holidazzle

By Casey Cora | December 7, 2012 3:17pm

BRIDGEPORT — Shoppers looking for holiday gifts with a local flair, a taste of fresh-baked meatloaf and a chance to pose with Santa won’t have to travel far on Saturday.

The Holidazzle at First Lutheran Church of the Trinity, 643 W 31st St. is scheduled to take place from dawn until dusk on Saturday. More than a dozen local vendors will be on-hand to sell their wares, including Bridgeport-made Ethically Engineered soaps and custom pieces from Bubbly Dynamic woodworkers Michael Pendleton and Eric Grimes of MP Custom Made.

Two food trucks will be feeding hungry shoppers. Meatloaf-Go-Go will be serving from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Curried will be serving Indian food sandwiches from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Rainbow Hat Bakery will also participate.

“That always brings people in Bridgeport out. They like to eat,” organizer Rene Paquin said.

It’s BYOC —Bring Your Own Camera— for snapping pics with Santa. And for a $1 suggested donation, shoppers can have their gifts wrapped by the church's teen group.

Here's the full list of vendors:

Bead-Cycler, Candy by Mike, Curried, Ethically Engineered, Eugene Barnett & Associates, Holiday Cards, Decorations and More, Home Interiors, Images of America - Bridgeport, Mary Burke Fine Art,
