CVS Stores Targeted by Robbers, Police Say

CHICAGO — Police are warning business owners to be on alert after a rash of armed robberies targeting CVS stores, three of them on the South Side.

Two men have entered the entered the stores, flashed handguns and snatched cigarettes, bus passes and cash, in four incident in the last two months, police said.

The incidents happened in the 5300 block of South Western Avenue on Sept. 6; the 3900 block of West 63rd Street on Oct. 26; the 3500 block of West Grand Avenue on Nov. 9; and the 7800 block of South Western Avenue on Nov. 28, police said.

Descriptions of the two men vary, police said. A Chicago Police Department statement describes the suspects as two black men between 25 and 50 years old.
