LAKEVIEW — If your ideal New Year's Eve party involves lobster rolls and gimlets in mason jars — and you've got cash to burn — you're in luck.

For the second consecutive year, Fish Bar, a casual Lakeview seafood restaurant, is offering one customer and up to 50 of his or her friends the run of the place for New Year's. The catch: You must name your price on eBay.

It'll cost you. The opening bid is $5,000. Bidding started Friday and runs through midnight on Friday.

The restaurant won't divulge last year's final bid, but the winner did bring the maximum number of guests, a spokeswoman said.

The offer to "own" Fish Bar, which is pocketing the winning bid, for the night — from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. — includes an open bar and a customized menu by chef and owner Michael Kornick. The spread could include raw oysters, po' boys loaded with shrimp and crawfish, ceviche, gumbo and tater tots.

Before the private party, the restaurant will offer a family friendly menu of fish sticks, mac 'n' cheese, cupcakes, kiddie cocktails and party favors. The 5 p.m. seating is open to all early revelers, but reservations are required.
