CHICAGO — Cops were on the hunt for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a young man in Humboldt Park, police said.
The fatal collision happened just after 5:30 a.m. at 1200 N. Central Park when the motorist slammed into a car driven by Ivan Miranda, 24, of East Garfield Park.
After the accident, the driver fled on foot. His 25-year-old passenger was taken into custody and will not be charged, police said.
Miranda, who was on his way with his brother to pick up a third brother from work, was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.
His 21-year-old brother was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, but his condition was not immediately clear.
