MANHATTAN — A man was critically injured Saturday night when he was struck by a Mercedes in a hit-and-run at the same Upper West Side intersection where Italian jazz singer Daniela D'Ercole was killed last month, officials said.

The victim, described as a 20-year-old man, had gotten out of a cab at 106th Street and Broadway just before 1:20 a.m., police said.

When he went to cross to the north side of the street, against the pedestrian signal, he was hit by a gray, late-model Mercedes, police said.

The car, which witnesses said had the green light, kept going, according to cops.

The victim was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital with head trauma and was listed in critical condition, authorities said.

On Nov. 10, singer Daniela D'Ercole was struck and killed by a car at the same intersection.

The driver remained at the scene and there was no criminality suspected in that case, police said.
