GREENWICH VILLAGE — New York's newest marathon may not leave Manhattanites with a runner's high, but it's possible they may feel wobbly in the legs.

The NYC First Annual Beerathon is a sprawling, all-night beer run from the West Village to the East Village this Saturday, and will visit a total of 26 different bars, pubs and clubs on the route.

As a nod to the 26-mile ING New York City marathon, the Beerathon challenges participants to guzzle up to 26 beers, one at each location. The list includes well-known beers such as Sierra Nevada, Carlsburg, and Miller High-Life, as well as local craft beers such as Kelser of Brooklyn Nut Brown Lager and Peak Organic Brewing Company IPA.

"The beerathon is for athletes of the liver," organizers of the NYC Beerathon wrote on the site, warning followers that the alcohol consumption involved is no easy task.

"You’ll have an easier time hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro."

Participating beerathoners will also be swilling for a cause. A  portion of the proceeds will go to Team Fox, the fundraising program that supports the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
