MANHATTAN — An elderly man was killed and his wife injured in a fire in a Park Avenue building early Saturday morning on the Upper East Side, officials said.

Howard Bogard, 83, was killed in the roaring blaze on the fourth floor of 815 Park Ave., near East 74th Street, which broke out at 12:46 a.m., according to the officials.

Sources said that Bogard's wife, 80, suffered smoke inhalation in the blaze, which firefighters battled for about 45 minutes.

Both were rushed to New York Hospital, where Bogard died.  His wife was listed in stable condition, according to police.

Seven firefighters were also injured in the fire, which was placed under control at 1:28 a.m., according to the FDNY.

Cops said that there did not appear to be any criminality.

The FDNY said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
