MANHATTAN — There was no guard on the 18th-story window from which the 2-year-old son of Libyan diplomat fell, authorities told the New York Post Sunday.

A city law requires owners to install window guards in any unit where a child less than 10 years old lives.

The Buildings Department issued a violation to the building’s owner., marking the 23rd violation for the building over the last few years.

Ebrahim Abuwari, the son of Mohamed Abuwari, second secretary-general of the Libyan delegation to the United Nations, survived after plunging three stories through a window screen Saturday.  He miraculously landed on his feet on a 15th-floor terrace in the building on East 46th St.

“They had a screen up, because [Ebrahim] had allergies,” building resident Gloria Gentile, 81, told the Post.

“Every year, we get notices in the mail saying, ‘Do you want window guards?’ I tell people, ‘Get guards now—especially if you have children.’”

A building superintendent declined to comment.
