MIDTOWN — Four weeks after a fatal stabbing near a popular Times Square nightclub, the club's owners are looking for a fresh start.

The China Club voluntarily closed its doors after three men were stabbed, one fatally, after leaving the club in the early hours of Jan. 23. A co-owner of the club, who gave his name as Danny, said they are bringing in a new promoter as well as a new crowd for its reopening on Saturday night.

"It is a different crowd, a more upscale crowd," he told DNAinfo. "We are bringing in fresh people for a fresh start."

The club, which has been around for 15 years, made headlines when a stabbing occurred outside the club.

One victim was pronounced dead after being taken to St. Vincent's Hospital. Police have since arrested Charles Davy and charged him with murder.

"When things like this happen it makes everyone look bad," said Danny. "It could have happened anywhere."
