Derailment

There have been at least eight derailments of subways and commuter trains in NYC since 2013.

The train derailed and blocked tracks 1 through 5 for about 3 hours Wednesday morning, officials said.

Commuter trains were running close to schedule Friday morning but Amtrak warned of 15 minute delays.

Thirty-four people were hurt when an A train derailed near 125th Street, officials said.

The derailment injured 34 people when two cars slipped off the tracks near 125th Street.

Riders could expect a variety of changed routes and delays, the MTA said.

Investigators are trying to find out why the brake suddenly snapped on, Lhota said.

There will be rush-hour delays and track changes out of Penn Station on the LIRR and NJ Transit trains.

LIRR riders should leave before 4 p.m. or after 8 p.m. to avoid delays and cancellations, officials say.

The D.C.-bound Acela derailed as it was leaving Penn Station, injuring two people, officials said.

A train derailed in Jamaica Station about 5 a.m., officials said.

Clifford Jones suffered knee, neck and back injuries during the Atlantic Terminal derailment.

The derailment happened at Longwood and Garrison Avenues about 10:05 a.m., the FDNY said.

No passengers were reported injured in the accident, MTA officials said.
