Public artist Leon Reid IV got official approval Thursday to dress up a statue of George Washington in Union Square to look like an average New York City tourist.
Community Board 5's Parks Committee voted unanimously in favor of an artist's bid to dress the George Washington Statue in Union Square in tourist gear.
The Parks Department nixed his 'Tourist in Chief' public art installation . Now, Brooklyn-based public artist Leon Reid IV is planning to plead his case to Community Board 5.
