In this exhibit at MoMA PS1, mixed-media artist Thomas Lanigan-Schmidt's explores gay sexuality and religion in his installations made from brightly colored tinfoil, cellophane, glitter and other household items.

Lanigan-Schmidt pioneered a maximalist aesthetic in the late 1960s. This collection of his work is described by the New York Times as "an eye-dazzling theater of the sacred and the profane."
