Timed to coincide with a new installation by street artist Gabriel Specter in the JCC's lobby, the JCC offers this talk. According to the JCC website, it's "an overview of the street art movement that will explain the motivation of the artists and why street art is so addictive. This dynamic talk by Wooster Collective founders will address the differences between graffiti and street art and its relationship with advertising and public space using artists such as Banksy and Shepard Fairey (famous for the Obama Hope poster) as examples. Often considered the definitive voice on street art, Wooster Collective is made up of Marc and Sara Schiller who have been documenting and discussing street art for the past decade as the movement grew from the streets to the galleries."
