The maker of the Emmy Award-winning PBS series "New York Originals" will share stories of classic local businesses in a talk at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 at the Washington Square Institute. In the free event hosted by the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation, filmmaker Jamie McDonald will speak about the importance of mom-and-pop shops and how the public can help preserve them.
