Movies Under the Stars: 'Cinema Paradiso' at Riverside Park

This year's Summer on the Hudson movie series theme is bicycles.

The series kicks off with a screening of "Cinema Paradiso" (1988) on July 11. The film centers on a filmmaker recalling his childhood, when he fell in love with the movies at his village’s theater and formed a deep friendship with the theater’s projectionist.

The film series, which takes place at Pier I at West 70th Street, is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, unreserved and opens one to two hours before the event.

Movies begin at dusk (about 8:30 p.m.) every Wednesday from July 11 to Aug. 15.
