Jackson Heights Poetry Festival

The Jackson Heights Poetry Festival returns to Terraza 7 in Elmhurst on Oct. 2 for First Tuesdays, where poetry fans can grab a drink, hear some poems and even perform some of their own during a poetry open mic.

The Oct. 2 featured reader, Welsh writer and broadcaster Lloyd Robson, has written several books, and has performed all over the world.

The event begins at 7 p.m., but sign-up for the open mic is at 6:45 p.m. There is a $5 suggested donation.
