Dan Boland

DevOps Manager Contact

Daniel Boland is DevOps Manager for DNAinfo.

He been writing code for Internet based software since the late 1990's. He started out building simple websites, but he eventually needed extra functionality for them. As a teenager he didn't have the money to buy any existing software, but his parents would buy him any books he wanted. So he got some programing books. The first time Daniel got paid to write software for someone else it was for a simple PERL script. To this day, his parents can't believe someone sent a check for $270 to a teenager.

Daniel then studied Computer Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology, and worked on a wide range of web applications. He's worked on everything from internal batch emailing to packaged third party software and online education software to web-based multimedia content management systems.

When not writing the same line of code over again so its "prefect," Daniel enjoys winter and fall sports and traveling the world. Most recently he enjoyed some good beer at Octoberfest in Munich and traveled around numerous cities in China.

Fun Fact:  Daniel enjoys heading down to Atlantic City as often as possible so he can enjoy he three favorite things: single malt Scotch, steak, and Black Jack.
