Nicole Breskin

Reporter/Producer @nicolebreskin

Nicole Breskin is a reporter/producer for DNAinfo, who covers the West Village and Greenwich Village, along with Chelsea and the Meatpacking District. A Manhattan native, her roots in the city run deep. So deep, in fact, they can be traced back four generations to Ellis Island, where her forebears arrived at the turn of the 20th century before settling in Brooklyn and Queens.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Nicole took off in 2005 for the far side of the media world — and the planet — Australia. Most recently, she was the editor of Sydney Life magazine and an online editor and producer for The Sydney Morning Herald. During her time Down Under, she also wrote for Time Out Sydney and several News Limited publications.

She also traveled through a dozen countries in Asia and the Pacific, and highly recommends Bula dancing in Fiji and Cambodian amok, a fish steamed in a coconut curry.

Her love of the Big Apple brought Nicole home to Manhattan to study digital journalism at Columbia University in 2008. Her work has appeared in the Huffington Post, the New York Daily News and Ha'aretz.

Fun Fact: Her all-time favorite food is the New York City bagel (cinnamon raisin with cream cheese). She's even got a Web site devoted to them:
