MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS — Shake Shack is celebrating the opening of its latest Big Apple outpost this week with a trio of neighborhood-themed desserts on the menu.

The new location at 2957 Broadway, at the corner of 116th Street, will start slinging burgers and fries at 11 a.m. Wednesday after previously stating that it would open by the end of the year.

The new, locally inspired dessert items include Heights Bites, a frosted cake with salted caramel sauce and vanilla custard; the Shack Attack, a chocolate custard covered with fudge sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough and dark chocolate chunks; and the Pie Oh My, a slice of seasonal pie a la mode from Four & Twenty Blackbirds served with vanilla custard.

Five percent of sales from the Pie Oh My will go toward The Fresh Air Fund, a nonprofit that takes kids from low-income families on outdoor trips throughout the summer, the restaurant said.

For those of age, Shake Shack will also be serving beer from Montauk Brewing Company, Sixpoint Brewery and an exclusive ShackMeister Ale from Brooklyn Brewery. Those looking for wine can order Shake Red or Shack White made from the California-based Frog's Leap Winery.

Shake Shack has opened more than 80 locations throughout the country since its 2004 debut in Madison Square Park.
