MANHATTAN — Two people were arrested during protests near Trump Tower Tuesday night, including one man who punched another in the face, police said.

Christian Baird, 35, socked another man in face about 9:15 p.m. near Fifth Avenue and West 53rd Street in a protest sparked by President Donald Trump's return to his Midtown home this week, officials said.

Baird was given a desk appearance ticket for misdemeanor assault and released, police said, noting he has no prior arrests.

The severity of the victim's injuries weren't immediately clear.

Musheera Aljamal, 28, was arrested about the same time when she walked through Fifth Avenue traffic, refused to return to the sidewalk when police told her to and then shoved officers, an NYPD spokesman said.

She was charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of governmental administration, police said.

Aljamal has been arrested 12 times since February 2011, when she was charged with criminal mischief, burglary and marijuana possession, police said.

She was arrested recently for crawling under a turnstile to avoid paying subway fare, police said. Authorities could not say when that happened.
