YORKVILLE — A CVS Pharmacy is moving into the ground floor of Yorkshire Towers at the corner of 86th Street and Second Avenue, a company spokeswoman confirmed on Thursday.

The 15,649-square-foot-space at 305 E. 86th St. will open as a CVS in the first quarter of 2018 and is currently undergoing interior renovations, spokeswoman Stephanie Cunha said.

She didn't provide the length of the lease, but leasing agent RFK told the Commercial Observer that it was for 15 years with the option to renew twice.

Cunha didn't comment further about the new store.

The space, which sits on the ground floor of the 21-story Yorkshire Towers, has been empty for a few years, with residents curious about what would move in following the opening of the Second Avenue Subway.

CVS already has a huge presence on the Upper East Side, with eight locations along Lexington, Third, Second and First Avenues.

RKF did not immediately return a call for comment Thursday.
