UPPER EAST SIDE — A pair of robbers put a 79-year-old man in a chokehold before mugging him on East 61st Street, police said.

The first suspect walked up to the victim from behind on East 61st Street, put him in a chokehold and dragged him into the stairway of 531 Park Ave. just after 1 a.m. on June 19, authorities said.

A second man then took the victim's wallet, which had $250 in cash and multiple credit cards inside, according to police.

Police released a surveillance video Thursday of the suspects walking down a sidewalk.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
