QUEENS — A 17-year-old girl slashed another 17-year-old female student with razor blades hidden in her hair while the two were fighting inside a Kew Gardens Hills high school Monday afternoon, officials said.

The suspect cut the victim's hands inside North Queens Community High School on 77th Road near Main Street at about 12:21 p.m., FDNY and NYPD spokesmen said.

Another 17-year-old girl and 30-year-old man tried to break up the fight and also got cut, the NYPD spokesman added.

All three were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens in stable condition, officials said.

It was not immediately clear if the 30-year-old worked at the school or, if so, in what capacity.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

The school does not have scanners, a school safety officer union spokeswoman said.

A Department of Education spokeswoman said the "safety of students and staff come first"

"The NYPD swiftly responded and individuals involved are being treated for minor injuries," the spokeswoman said in a statement. "We are looking into the incident and are providing more counseling resources to the school."
