MANHATTAN — A man grabbed a 12-year-old girl's butt on the 6 train before fleeing the subway last week, police said.

The victim was riding the southbound train between the 68th Street-Hunter College and the Lexington Avenue-59th Street stations around 3:30 p.m. on May 5 when the suspect grabbed her butt, the NYPD said. He then fled the train at the 59th Street station, police said.

A cellphone photo shows the man wearing glasses and a black golf hat.

Police described him as 30 years old, standing 6 feet tall and weighing about 230 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie and dark-colored pants.

The groping marks the latest in a string of similar incidents in the area.

On April 14, a stranger grabbed a straphanger's butt on the 6 train platform at the Lexington Avenue-77th Street station and ran, police said.

Four days later, another man touched his groin inappropriately in front of a woman on the 5 train at the Lexington Avenue-86th Street station.

Anyone with information in regards to the incidents is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
