THE BRONX — The man an officer was chasing before he severely cut his arm was arrested Wednesday, according to the NYPD.

Naquan Smith, 20, ran away from Officer David Fraioli after the officer spotted him making a drug deal near Willis Avenue and East 137th Street Friday night, police said.

Fraioli suffered a deep cut to his right bicep while climbing a fence in pursuit of Smith and was released from Lincoln Hospital on Sunday.

Smith was arrested at a courthouse Wednesday, an NYPD spokeswoman said. She did not have further information on the courthouse he was arrested in or what he was doing in the courthouse.

Smith was charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and selling marijuana.

He was expected to be arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court Wednesday night or Thursday.
