MOTT HAVEN — The officer who cut his arm on a fence while chasing a suspect involved in a drug deal has been released from the hospital and is doing well, police said.

Officer David Fraioli began chasing 20-year-old suspect Naquan Smith by Willis Avenue and E. 137th Street around 10:35 p.m. on Friday after seeing him take part in a drug deal and severely injured his arm while climbing a fence during the foot pursuit, according to the NYPD.

He suffered a deep cut to his right bicep and a major artery and was taken to Lincoln Hospital, but he was released on Sunday, and his arm did not have to be amputated, police said.

Officials are still searching for Smith, whose listed address is 1364 Bronx River Ave. and is wanted for assault.
