CORONA — The controversial Ann Pfoser Darby, who said bike lanes weren't necessary because they are only used by "illegals" who will be deported soon has been ousted from Community Board 4.

Borough President Melinda Katz did not appoint her for the 2017–2019 term, the office confirmed.

Pfoser Darby, who's been a member of the board since 1987, made news after she said at a board transportation meeting that only "illegals" used bike lanes — and they'd be deported under President Donald Trump, making the lanes obsolete.

The board's chairman, Damian Vargas, denied she said it at the board's monthly meeting. But when asked by DNAinfo, Darby said she "of course" made the comments — and went on to say, among other things, that she could tell if someone is undocumented by the way they dress.

"You can kind of tell, especially sometimes the way they dress," she said, adding later that it's obvious if "someone speaks only Chinese."

Elected officials called for her immediate removal last month.

The plan to put bike lanes, and make other improvements to 111th Street in Corona, will begin next month despite Community Board 4 delaying the vote.

Pfoser Darby could not immediately be reached for comment.
