BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A developer is planning to build an eight-story building with apartments and commercial space on Fulton Street, according to permits filed this week.

The mixed-use building, which would replace a two-story structure housing a Papa John’s pizza joint at 1111 Fulton Street between Franklin Avenue and Claver Place, would include 18 residential dwellings and one ground-floor unit with 1,315 square feet for retail, according to permits filed on Tuesday with the Department of Buildings.

The plans could be carried out as-of-right, as the eight-story building would be under the 100-foot maximum for new buildings in the neighborhood’s zoning.

The owner, Yoel Werzberger, bought the property for $975,000 in 2015, records show. The previous owner, a limited liability corporation with an address in Harlem, had bought the property in 2006 for $250,000, according to property records.

Werzberger did not respond to a request for comment.
