Third Arrest Made in Robbery of Man Beaten After Offering to Pay for Meal

BROOKLYN — A third man has been arrested in the attack and robbery of a man with a cane who offered to buy the group food in a Flatbush fast-food eatery, according to the NYPD.

Darrick Moore, 53, was seen on video robbing the 37-year-old victim inside Texas Chicken and Burgers at 521 Ocean Ave. on March 1 while he was lying on the ground incapacitated.

The man was critically injured after four people repeatedly kicked, punched him and beat him with his own cane while he was on the ground.

Police first arrested 21-year-old Kariem Roberts on March 16 and busted Keshan John, 21, on March 20. Both men were charged with robbery and gang assault.

Moore, who lives near the restaurant at 555 Ocean Ave., was charged with robbery, grand larceny and endangering the welfare of an incompetent person. He is not believed to be one of the people who assaulted the victim, police said.

Investigators are still looking for two other people in the assault.
