Burglar Swipes $85 in Silverware from East Harlem Apartment, Police Say

EAST HARLEM — A thief swiped two-dozen pieces of silverware — and nothing else — from an apartment in the Lincoln Houses, police said.

The suspect broke into an apartment at, at 2140 Madison Ave., after the 50-year-old tenant's son accidentally left the keys in the door in the early afternoon on March 10, police said.

When the resident returned home around 4:30 p.m., she noticed that the only thing missing was an $85 set of silverware that included six forks, six table knives, six spoons and six butter knives, police said.

There have been no arrests.
