CORONA — Roughly 200 residents are still without water following a water main break on 60th Avenue Wednesday night, officials said.
The break happened overnight on 60th Avenue, between 99th and Calloway streets, officials said.
Department of Environmental Protection crews were in the process of repairing the break on Thursday, and working to restore water service as fast as they can, a spokesman said.
The street remained closed to traffic during repairs.
Councilwoman Julissa Ferreras-Copeland's office is assisting residents who may have had any personal property damage due to the water main break. Residents can call her office at 718-651-1917 for more information.
It's not clear what caused the water main break, but the DEP is investigating.
